There are some fascinat ing behind-the-scenes tidbits about makeup, costuming, and stagecraft techniques. Reasons for certain pre- production decisions are discussed by Lloyd Webber, Hal Prince, and others in positions of artistic direction. Many color photographs show the production itself.
